CIH Solutions Lifecycle Approach – Stage 4: Build

Stage 4: Build – creating the right solution for your organisation

This is the fourth of our deep-dive articles, walking our customers through our new Technical Delivery Lifecycle approach, which we’ll implement soon. If you haven’t already, please read the introductory article, which will give you an overview of our approach and what happens leading up to the Build stage.

How soon can the Design stage start?

Once we’ve completed the Triage, Discovery and Design stages, we can move into the Build phase, where we construct the optimum solution for your organisation.

The CIH Solutions Lifecycle stage graphic states the various stages. It starts with Triage and is followed by Discovery, Design, Build, Testing and Implementation.

This is always the most satisfying stage for us – it’s when we start to breathe life into the solution that will deliver the benefits and value you’re looking for.

What happens during the Build stage?

We’ll create a ‘parent’ ticket that you can access via our portal. We’ll use this to keep you fully updated on the project status.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, we’ll manage our technical work on our internal boards. You won’t be able to see these – but we believe the updates we post on our portal will deliver an enhanced experience that’s significantly clearer and more transparent for you and your colleagues.

How will you be able to check on progress?

As we build, we’ll document the solution and update the change logs for your environments so there’ll be a complete technical record of everything we develop. That way, you’ll be able to keep abreast of what’s happening, while the record will be helpful for anyone taking on any future development projects – whether they’re handled by you, us or another supplier.

As we build your solution, we may need to come back to you with questions if we come up against any unexpected challenges or if we find that there may be opportunities for delivering additional benefits to you.

Once the Build work is completed, we’ll be ready to move on to the next stage: Testing.

Do you know how you can find out more?

Over the next few weeks, we’ll publish our series of articles, taking a deep dive into each step of the process. (Watch out for an email landing in your inbox every week, alerting you to the publication of the latest article.)

The following article will be about the Testing stage.

Before we launch our Lifecycle approach, you can be sure that we’ll meet with you to explain the changes and give you the opportunity to ask any questions.

But if you’d like to discuss this with us in the meantime and get a clearer understanding of how it will help to deliver even greater value for your organisation, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
