Cherwell's End of Life: What You Need to Know

 

Cherwell has been a trusted ITSM tool for many organisations, helping IT teams streamline their operations and enhance service delivery. Initially focused on areas like incident management, change management, and service request management, Cherwell expanded over time to offer a broader range of enterprise service management features.

In 2021, Ivanti acquired Cherwell, with the goal of providing a more comprehensive suite of tools for managing IT operations and service desks. However, in October 2023, Ivanti announced the End of Life (EoL) for Cherwell Service Management, meaning renewals and product support will no longer be available.

Important Updates:

  • As of 1st October 2024, Ivanti will no longer renew unsupported versions of Cherwell Service Management. If you’re using one of these versions, it’s crucial to upgrade your platform before this date to avoid disruptions.

What Should You Do Next? For existing Cherwell customers, it’s essential to start evaluating alternative solutions and planning a migration strategy while there’s still time.
